These ABEC #3 bearings have ceramic balls with a special, corrosion resistant stainless steel races, shields and retainers. Metal shielded bearings are non-contact which allows the bearing to spin freely without any excess drag. Ceramic will never corrode, has less rolling resistance and is lighter and than steel. As a result, ceramic bearings last longer and cast longer. All Special Saltwater Series Ceramic Hybrid Fishing Reel Bearings come lubed with a light AF2 oil.
